SFCC Adjunct Faculty Lisa McConnell Receives Doctorate
The SFCC Natural Science Department now has a new “Doctor” in its adjunct faculty. SFCC adjunct health instructor Lisa McConnell recently earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree in Nursing Education from the University of South Florida. Dr. McConnell finished her first term teaching at SFCC.
“This brings another dimension to our department that we didn’t have,” said Erik Christensen, chair and professor, Natural Sciences. “Before Dr. McConnell began teaching Personal Health this term, we could not offer the class because we couldn’t get enough students to enroll. The students are drawn to her because of her enthusiasm, and she now has an expanded range of academics that will benefit the students as well. She is a wonderful asset to our department.”
