Political Activities on the Campuses of SFCC
It’s political season in the Heartland, and all across the land. Here at SFCC, candidates for public office, or their designated representatives, are always welcome. They are invited to talk with students, citizens, and employees and to distribute literature.
College policy states that candidates for political office, and others officially involved in their campaigns, should notify college officials when they plan to be on campus so that the proper courtesies can be extended. Use of college facilities for political campaign events and activities must be requested in writing to the director, Community Relations and Marketing, and specifically authorized by the college president.
As part of our educational mission, we encourage civil dialog and debate about issues of local, state, and national interest. We also recognize that strong differences of opinion and philosophies exist and are an important part of our society. Working through those differences and gaining an understanding and respect for opposing points of view contributes to the greatness of our nation.

Well stated. The views expressed by a candidate or party do not neccessarily represent the views of our College, but the ability to express a sincere message does indeed represent a view of our College.
