Leadership Highlands
In June, Keith Loweke and Dr. Christopher van der Kaay graduated with Leadership Highlands’ Class of 2009. Leadership Highlands is administered by South Florida Community College and sponsored by Highlands County’s three chambers of commerce. The program develops leaders who have a thorough understanding and sense of commitment to the county. SFCC employees have participated in Leadership Highlands since 2000.
During the Leadership Highlands graduation service, Captain Jeffrey Barfield, Highlands County Sheriff’s Office presents Dr. Christopher van der Kaay with the Morris Adams Leadership Award. The award recipient is chosen by a vote from participants in Leadership Highlands and is given to class member who has consistently shown ethics, integrity, and respect.
