Ed Christy and Carol DuttonCarol Dutton, professor, Accounting, and Ed Christy, professor, Business Administration, received an Outstanding Service and Leadership award on Oct. 9 at the 32nd Annual Florida Association of Accounting Educators (FAAE) Conference.

Dutton and Christy received the award for acting as the 2009 FAAE co-presidents. As such, it was their responsibility to plan the 2009 conference, which took over a year to organize.

Over 40 accounting professors from colleges and universities throughout Florida attended this year’s event, which was held on the SFCC Highlands Campus, Oct. 8–10.  While at the conference, the educators shared learning strategies and advice, state level news and updates, best practices and accounting updates with an emphasis on international accounting.

“This is a time for all of the college accounting educators in Florida to come together and share everything from changes in accounting policies to best practices in teaching,” Dutton said. “We had a successful conference and are very grateful for the hard work of Lorrie Key and Julie Baker, who coordinated th

e event.”
