Lake Placid Center finalizes renovations
The South Florida Community College Lake Placid Center has received the finishing touches to its recent renovations.
Building 200, which houses the Adult Education classroom, has received a facelift. The refreshed room now has a new ceiling, new carpet, and was completely re-painted. All the lighting is brand new, and the air conditioner has been replaced.
The kitchen and conference room area have been remodeled with the addition of new flooring, a sink, counter tops, and refrigerator. Along with this, the bookcases have been re-stained to their original wood luster. The instructor’s desks have been replaced with new ones, and the building is now set up for wireless internet connection. The blackboards have also been replaced by whiteboards.
“There are several reasons we are excited about this renovation,” said Randy Paeplow, director, Lake Placid Center. “For one, it enables us to expand what we can offer. Two, the kitchen and conference room renovation will allow us to open up the facility to the public for meetings. It’s just an overall improvement for our students and community, because we are now able to provide them with better educational and social opportunities.”
