Lady Panthers fight breast cancer
The South Florida Community College Lady Panther Volleyball team held its final home game of the season, Oct. 16. The game was also a benefit to support the fight against breast cancer.
“October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, and there are a couple of girls on the team whose moms have beat breast cancer,” said Kim Crawford, SFCC Lady Panthers head coach. “It is a very important cause we wanted to support.”
During the game, the team wore pink jerseys and sold tickets for a serving contest for prizes. The Lady Panthers will donate a portion of the proceeds to support the fight against breast cancer. Clients from Ridge Area Arc also cheered on the Lady Panthers and created tunnel and breast cancer awareness banner the team ran through prior to the start of the game.
