President’s Award nominations due by Nov. 9

Submitted by on October 12, 2009 – 4:37 pmNo Comment

Now is the time for SFCC employees to express their pride in their colleagues by nominating them for 2009 President’s Awards.

Any college employee may nominate a co-worker for exemplary service to the college during the past year. Nominations must be delivered to Dr. Norm Stephens by noon on Monday, Nov. 9, in writing or by e-mail, and should include a brief statement explaining why the nominee is an excellent choice for a particular award. If an award category is not specified in the nomination, Dr. Stephens will choose the appropriate category.

Employees may be nominated in multiple categories. Past award recipients may also be nominated for 2009 awards, although preference will be given to those employees who have never received a President’s Award.

 Categories are:

 Outstanding Full-Time Career Service Employee

  • Outstanding Part-Time Career Service Employee
  • Outstanding Professional Employee
  • Outstanding Full-Time Faculty Member
  • Outstanding Adjunct Faculty Member
  • Outstanding Administrator
  • Outstanding Volunteer from the Community
  • Panther Spirit Award
  • Overall Outstanding Employee of the Year
  • Special Award

Last year’s award recipients will review the nominations and advise Dr. Stephens as he selects the 2009 honorees.

Awards will be presented and all nominees will be recognized at the annual holiday luncheon in December.

In addition, full-time faculty who receive President’s Awards are nominated for Excellence Awards of the National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development (NISOD), and they are invited to attend the International Conference on Teaching and Leadership Excellence in Austin, Texas, May 30-June 2, 2010.
