Let the Games Begin!

Community College Week returns for its 26th year at South Florida Community College (SFCC) March 5 – 8, at the SFCC Highlands Campus.  The week is hosted by the SFCC Student Government Association (SGA) and will be filled with fun and games for both SFCC students and employees.

This weeklong celebration of the Florida’s College System has become a tradition at SFCC.  This year will bring new fun and games to SFCC, including a belly flop contest and Wobbly Wheel Barrow race. Last year’s popular games will also return, such as pony race, dodgeball, and a tug of war contest. The opening ceremony begins Monday, March 5, at noon at the Intramural Fields. Pete the Panther will light the Community College Week torch.  Games will be held each day through Thursday, March 8, and the festivities conclude with an awards ceremony at 2:30 p.m.

SGA encourages students, staff, and faculty from all SFCC sites to join in on the fun.  SGA hopes to top last year’s overall participation of students and employees and make it the biggest Community College Week in SFCC history.  Teams consist of eight to 12 members with an equal number of males and females and designated alternates.  The schedule of events for Community College Week is:
