Astronomy Class Hosts Star Party
The South Florida Community College online descriptive astronomy class will hold a star party Thursday, Sept. 22, 8-10 p.m., near the Ridge ARC on Baltimore Street, located off of College Drive one mile east of SFCC, or just off Memorial Drive. Students and the public are welcome to attend.
Deep sky objects, star galaxies, and nebula will be viewed. Telescopes and planispheres, devices that identify the stars and constellations, will also be provided. Attendees are welcome to bring blankets, lawn chairs, and friends. Star parties will be canceled for inclement weather.
For more information, a map to the location, and last minute weather cancellations visit http://sfcc-astronomy.wetpaint.com or contact Erik Christensen, SFCC physics professor, at 863-784-7363.
