Survey Narrows Down Top 12 Picks for College Names
The recent college name change discussion has allowed for input from the entire SFCC community, and now SFCC employees have had their say as well. Following the results of a recent survey, the list of the top 12 college names employees prefer has been compiled. “The response we received from employees was amazing and spirited,” said Dr. Norm Stephens, SFCC president. “I am delighted with the list.”
The list of names has been sent on to the District Board of Trustees (DBOT) members, who will have the opportunity to add their own suggestions and discuss the names at the DBOT meeting on Sept. 28. The board will then vote on the name during its November meeting.
“The DBOT has the final say in the name,” said Dr. Stephens. “When it is approved by the trustees, we will begin the branding effort, which will be determined by what name is chosen. Once the legislature approves the name and the governor signs off on it, we will begin to slowly make changes to signage, documents, and other college matters as funds allow.”
