Not-So-Trivial Pursuit: GPS Edition for Employees Begins Sept. 6
As part of SFCC’s 10-year reaffirmation of its accreditation through the Southern Association of Colleges and Universities (SACS), employees of the college worked diligently over the past year or so to develop a topic for a quality enhancement plan (QEP). Much research indicates that many first-year students are unprepared for college, and that the first year of college is critical to student learning and success. SFCC’s QEP, known as the Guide to Personal Success (GPS), will empower students to navigate their educational experiences and help them become confident and self-reliant learners.
The more SFCC employees know about the GPS, the better we’ll be able to help our students. So, the GPS Marketing and Promotions Team devised the Not-So-Trivial Pursuit: GPS Edition game. Come test your knowledge about GPS and, perhaps, win a prize.
All current full- and part-time SFCC employees
How to Play the Game:
On the first work day of each week (usually Monday) for the next nine weeks, a different question about SFCC’s Guide to Personal Success (GPS) will appear on the front page of the employee e-magazine, Panther Tales.
Players may submit an answer to the question that appears that week no later than 5 p.m. on Thursday of that particular week; for example, answers to this week’s question must be submitted by 5 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 8. Players must include their names and employee identification numbers (GIDs) along with the answer to the question by clicking https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/YQ23ZWJ. Players may only submit one answer per week. Each Friday, the answer to the question will be revealed in Panther Tales.
This is an open-book contest. For answers to the weekly questions, search the GPS Report located on the bottom of the SFCC website home page.
The more weekly questions you answer correctly, the more chances your name will be added to the random drawing at the end of nine weeks. Two players will be eligible for one of two prizes.
Three Excellent Reasons to Play:
1. The GPS is a major college initiative that focuses on helping first-year students succeed.
2. You may learn something new!
3. You can win one of two fabulous prizes*:
First prize – a Kindle reader
Second prize – a $100 gift card for Amazon.com
*Special thanks to the SFCC Foundation, Inc. for providing the prizes. Yay!
