In spring 2009, SFCC is sponsoring educational tours to Peru and Ireland. All of SFCC’s educational tours are available to employees, students, and the public and can be taken for college credit or no credit.

During the nine-day tour to Lima and Cuzco, Peru, in March 2010, travelers will see the Incan temples, hike the Inca Trail through its cloud forest and orchid-filled jungle, explore the mystery of Machu Picchu, “the lost city of the Inca,” and see the world from atop a mountain at 9,000 feet. The price of the trip includes round-trip airfare, seven overnight stays in hotels with private bathrooms, breakfast and dinner daily, two lunches, a full-time tour director, and select guides and entrances to special attractions.

For more information, call Dr. Kimberly Batty-Herbert at ext. 7329. The registration deadline to obtain advance pricing is Oct. 1.

Experience the beauty of the Emerald Isle, tour medieval cathedrals, take a walk along the Cliffs of Moher, and kiss the Blarney Stone when SFCC tours Ireland in May 2010. The price of the trip includes round-trip air fare, comfortable bus transportation, 10 overnight stays in comfortable hotels with private bathrooms, breakfast and dinner daily, full-time tour director, one sightseeing tour led by a licensed local guide, seven sightseeing tours led by the tour director to Cork, Ring of Kerry, Galway Burren, Cliffs of Moher, Derry, Giant’s Crossing, and Belfast, and one walking tour in Dublin.

The tour also includes visits to the Book of Kells, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, National Stud Farm, Queenstown Experience, Blarney Castle, Bog Village Museum, Bunratty Castle and Folk Park, Burren Center, Ailwee Cave, St. Columb’s Cathedral, Tower Museum, and Giant’s Causeway Visitor Centre.

Call Dr. Theresa James at ext. 7185 for an information packet including a brochure, an application, and an explanation of the costs.
