South Florida Community College’s Mathematics Department will join with math departments across the country to observe “Pi Day,” Monday, March 14, in the Building B Rotunda. The annual pi celebration includes a pi reciting contest beginning at 12:20 p.m. Contestants will recite pi to the greatest number of decimal places they can remember.

Students and employees are encouraged to participate. The winner receives a TI Graphing Calculator, a Pi award plaque, and a gift card to Village Inn for a pie. A sheet of pi to 3500 digits and contest directions can be picked up in the mailroom or by contacting Jim McBride, instructor, mathematics. To sign up or for more information, contact McBride in B307 or at ext. 7359.
