SFCC’s Panther Baseball team observed “Ed Christy Day at the Ballpark” as its season-opening home game against Daytona State College on Jan. 28. Christy, an SFCC business professor and active FACC member, passed away last fall. Twenty-two members of Christy’s family attended the memorial event.

Members of Ed Christy’s family receive memorial bracelets from catcher Brett Clements before the start of the game.

During a ceremony before the game, Dr. Norm Stephens (right) presents Christy’s wife, Dorry, with a plaque and a jersey in Ed Christy’s memory. The SFCC Panther baseball team plans to remember Christy throughout its season by wearing an “EC” patch on their jersey sleeves.

Trey Christy throws out the first pitch of the game in memory of his dad.
