SFCC Art Club Gives Panther Gym a Fresh Look
Members of the SFCC Art Club sketched and painted new lettering on the Panther Gym wall for two weeks in September. Not only does the new lettering give the gym a fresh look, but the project will also help the club travel to New York City for its annual museum tour in the spring.
Kasie Robarts traces the outline of the new letters on the gym wall.
Rick Hitt, director, Athletics, asked the SFCC Art Club to work on the project because of the club’s success with previous projects for the Athletics Department. “We have always had a great partnership with the Art Club, and they do such an outstanding job of starting and finishing projects that it was just a great fit,” Hitt said. “Cathy Futral was able to work it out within their schedule, and athletics is making a nice donation to their club.”

The SFCC Art Club has done several projects for the Athletics Department over the years including the logos at the athletic complex and the Alan Jay Automotive sponsorship wall. “They do a great job and are a very talented group,” Hitt said.
“The Art Club has always enjoyed working on projects for Coach Hitt and our Athletics program, and we appreciate the fundraising opportunity he has given us with this project,” Futral said.
